Lee left school at the age of sixteen to join the Ministry of Defence working in finance and studying accounts. However, Lee had been brought up around trucks and his ambition was to become an owner driver. In 1992 Lee left the Ministry of Defence and bought himself a vehicle becoming a self employed owner driver. During his first year Lee met a lot of people who he built up working relationships with - one of which was Ian McGill of McGill Transport. For the next three years Lee enjoyed the flexibility of being self employed but upon purchasing of his first house and planning to get married, Lee decided to give up his self employed status in favour of full time employment with family company McGill Transport. Already knowing Ian McGill for some four years, Lee felt more than happy to join his company in 1996 as a HGV driver. In October 2000 Ian offered Lee the opportunity to work with him in the traffic office. Lee has been involved ever since with the day to day running of the articulated fleet which he runs as if they were his own. In 2006 Lee was made a director of the company in recognition of the success he had achieved within his area of the business. He is looking forward to new challenges in the future.
